Re: Advanced options on Form and List module for DotNetNuke - Video #109

Anderson,

Another great video! Is there a way to search by multiple columns? (i.e. all users in Toronto who live in Montreal). Also did you find a way to export your list? Preferably a format Microsoft Outlook can read?

Hi Sean,

1 - You cannot combine search. You can either have a simple search or a more advanced one where you can select the field you want to search by;

2 - In terms of exporting, you can export to a CSV format (comma-separated values). You can find it under the action menu in the module.

This is a basic free module that has limited functionality, but does a good job on what it proposes to do.

If you want to go fancy, you should try xMod www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=18452r=73311e2a326b411fbbb4 . But I warn that xMod is not that simple to use. I may run a video on it in the future.

BTW, it is Aderson, not Anderson ;)

Cheers,

Aderson,

Yes...my apologies, I was typing too fast. Thanks for the tip. I will run some tests on this mod.

Aderson,

im wondering if future versions of this module will include multi selection text boxes, or should i not hold my breath and do the purchase of a module.

thanks for your opinion (im sure if they do add that functionality it will be in your tutorials straight away) :D

Shane,

As you said I would not hold my breath, but you can always send a note to the team that takes care of this module. They can be found at:
www.dotnetnuke.com/Development/Forge/ModuleFormandList/tabid/877/Default.aspx

You can definitely give suggestions to them. You can click their names and send suggestions to them.

Thanks for watching the videos!

Cheers,
