Re: How to setup Google sitemap in a DotNetNuke website - Video #36

Hi Aderson,
nice video; I have a case where the automatically generated sitemap only shows the pages belogning to the first language of the site and not the others. I am using the Apollo pagelocalization module on a dnn5 instance.
Any idea on how to fix that?

Hi Franco,

This a 3rd party module that I have never used before. You will be in better hands to ask the vendor.

But I can tell you this much: The SiteMap.aspx code is not taking language locale into account. So I don't think the module vendor will be able to help you out, unless they have already another site map code to give to you.

Hi Aderson:

I have a page on my site named sitemaps.aspx however the dnn site map is not showing. The site is www.championelitedetailing.com Any ideas as to why it is missing.

Hi Don,

You have to rename your page from "sitemaps" to something else.

Then "sitemaps.aspx" will show google sitemap that you are expecting.

nice video. But my site doesnt have a sitemap.aspx page. I just get a 404 error. I'm not sure why but it may be to do with an upgrade of DNN. Can you tell me what I need to do if there is no sitemap?

Hi J,

On newer versions of DNN there is a SiteMap handler in the web.config. Open your web.config and try to find "SitemapHandler".

If you don't find, then open the web.config from the DNN original installation download and copy the lines that are related to that from the new web.config into your sites web.config.

You can find this inside the Handlers and httpHandlers keys in the web.config.

Cheers,
Aderson
