Complexity Level: 4 - I'm almost a pro! This video will show how you can integrate the user login of your DotNetNuke site with Facebook Connect using the Dynamic Login module from Data Springs. This is part 2 of 3.

Re: Integrating DotNetNuke with Facebook Connect using Dynamic Login module part2/3 - Video #211

Hello Aderson,

In this video you stated that you could also use the silent post option to have users registered using Dynamic Registration. I am currently trying to achieve this because I would like to fire some completion events when a user has registered either through the website or using Facebook.

The thing is that I have no idea what the parameters would be when using the silent post option. I believe that the fields to send it to will be the shortnames in the DR but the parameters that it would get the data from in DL are not presented to the users (I have tried to use the shortnames as parameters but no luck).

Have you tried this or do you know what the fields will be?

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Re: Integrating DotNetNuke with Facebook Connect using Dynamic Login module part2/3 - Video #211

Aderson,

I have always wanted to change my site to use email address as a users ID instead of prompting them to create a user name. I was hoping to accomplish this without an additional mod. After watching this video, I was wondering if there was a way to change the log in and registration text from user name to Email Address? would this cause any issues with DNN functioning properly?

Thanks,

Sean

Sean, I have tried in the past to make a change to the resource file for that but could not find them. Actually I didn't try hard enough I think.

In any case even if you can change, the registration page would become a bit strange as it would be asking for email address twice (user name and the regular email field).

But I did a bit of a trick in this page: www.1800dnn.com/RegUser/tabid/67/Default.aspx?returnurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.1800dnn.com%2fRegUser.aspx

I don't think it is a great solution, but it works. I have used JQuery to hide and rename the fields that I wanted. Drop me an email and I will send the scripts to you.
