Re: How to add multilanguage content using the MLHTML Apollo Module for DotNetNuke - Video #140

Hi Anderson:

I am very impressed with your knowledge, I would be grateful if you could help me with a doubt. I been working some time with DNN 5.x, to create my first web site with multilanguage content, I used a ML modules from www.apollo-software.nl/, (Apollo.ModuleLocalization, Apollo.MLHTML and Apollo.MLAnnouncements) those modules works fine. But now I'm planning move to DNN 6 my web site, and I don't now if install and use apollo modules. Becouse I read that DNN6 already have these functionalities, ¿could you give me your opinion?... I have time to move my web site to DNN6, just I want to use the best practices.

Regards
José Luis Rivera.

Hi José,

Thanks for your comment!

In regards to DNN 6 being able to do all what Apollo modules can do, I don't think so - At least not yet.

I just did a simple test in DNN 6. Content and page names are still unique regardless which language you have selected.

So even though I have not done much in regards to multilanguage in DNN 6, but I think you will still need Apollo for that.

Hi Sunil,

Good question. Erik Van Ballegoij from Apollo Software has moved on to become a DNN Corp employee and now he is working with some other people to keep his modules going.

In any case you can now find all his modules for free on Snowcovered:

www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/product/Modules/Apollo-PageLocalization-50/id/Default.aspx?tabid=295&sid=6803&r=73311e2a326b411fbbb4

Just so you know, I have spoken with Erik during the past DNN World event back in November/2011 and he told me that his modules MAY not work well with DNN 6. I have not tried myself, but that is what he told me.
