Hi Aderson

I need to ad some script to the website - the function supposed to be Geographic announcement, pop ups etc.

How  add the script?

"Add this code just before the </head> tag".

Will this have to be done withing the skin file?

 I was recommended the "40-Fingers" module as a good tool.
However, I am not able to find and install instructions, and get no response to messages or Emails.

Do you have any tutorial covering this module Aderson?

Cheers

Olle..

PS;

DotNetNuke Version: 06.02.06 (10)  and later versions.

Hi Olle,

I will tell you a "dirty trick" :) - Go straight to the default.aspx file on the root folder of your site. Just open it and put it inside. You just have to be careful when you upgrade DNN as you have to do the same thing again because the default.aspx file will get overwritten.

Cheers,

Aderson

Wounder if the Script is accepted her - without formatting?

""""""Note: Because the location is taken from your IP address, the city location might not be 100% correct, but it will be very close. However, the Country and Region have a very high accuracy.
Step 2. Apply the script to your page
1. Add this code just before the </head> tag:
<--- <script src="http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js"></script>  --->

2. Add the following line where you want to see the location information on your page
Note: You can wrap in a DIV or SPAN and use CSS to style it(text color, size, etc)
<--- <script>document.write(geoip_city()+", "+geoip_country_name());</script>  --->

Hi Ollie

Another  technique I have used, when asked to add Script, like this, is to place it in the Header of the module in question

Certainly I've found this technique required for adding Facebook like buttons for example

The only twist which I discovered the other day was that if the module is repeated on other pages the Header info (probably Footer, Start and End Dates as well) do not transfer to all variations

Alternatively add a "dummy" module (HTML) at the top of the page(s) called "Scripts" and then put all SCRIPTS into the Header of this special module

Regards

Dave
