Following the nice Nivo Slider tutorial, I bumped into a problem when using a drop down menu above the slider.

Indeed, every time the slide changes, it overlaps the menu and you cannot access the submenu.

I have tried to play with z-index and a few other things as this issue is quite commented over the web regarding Nivo Slider and Drop Down menus.

But I couldn't come up with a solution, so any help will be appreciated.

Hi Stephane,

You are correct. It is about the z-index. I cannot tell you a general fix, but this should fix at least the default Gravity skin on DNN.

1 - Open the skin file /Portals/_default/Skins/Gravity/skin.css

2 - Find "#dnn_pnav > li ul entry"

3 - Then change the "z-index" to, let's say, 10;

This should do the job. You should try a similar approach if you need to fix that on a different/custom skin.

Cheers,

Aderson

Okay, I feel a little bit dumb as this seems so easy to find.

But I may have played too much with z-index on the nivo slider CSS side to make it work when trying to modify the skin.css file.

Anyway, thanks this works great.

No question is too simple to be asked/answered Stephane.

I'm happy it worked!

Cheers,

Aderson
