Thanks for the videos on Artisteer.  I have been using it for about a year now and at first didn't like it much but with some experience and the latest updates I am beginning to really like it a lot.  FYI, when you export your skin, in the options menu, there is an option to not have the login and register show up in the menu.  Of course you need to add some code to your skin.aspx file to add a login if you choose that option.

Also, there is an option there to make the skin responsive or not as well.  Not sure why you wouldn't want your skin responsive.

I now design most of my skins with this tool and if you are willing to take the time you can generate some pretty nice templates.  Another good use of the tool is to quickly design mock ups for clients to look at in the design stage of the website project.

Hi Hutch,

Thanks for the tip about the login/register and for the feedback. I really came to appreciate Artisteer as a great tool for skin creation at a very good price point to!

The mobile friendly option was quite surprising too. I wouldn't expect it to have that.

Cheers,

Aderson

Hi Gerald

I have been using Artisteer for a number of years and I is the best $130.00 I have ever spent..  Can't wait for each new version to come out.  I have done about 50 sites using it.

I agree with both Gerald and Paul. Artisteer has made the DNN job much simpler for me.

I did learn the basics of skin design and setup an initial layout for our DNN site. As soon as it was finished, here come the "can you change the font/color/background" for this or that.

I am not a HTML/CSS kinda guy and going into those products to produce a change to me is just time wasted!

Developing the aesthetics of a web site is not what the job is about to me.  The ability for our users to add or view their content and the flow of that information is what counts.

Artisteer makes the aesthetics part of the job almost trivial once you learn the product. I will not say I am an expert, but I can easily change what the user wants with little effort. Sometimes it may be a “grin and bear it”, but, it gets done.
