Hi Aderson

I have a client's page with a listing of recordings (mp3s) and they want to have this indexed by itunes.  It seems like I should be able to submit the rss for the module to itunes but they reject it.  When I inspected the rss that the module puts out I don't see the link to the mp3 in the rss code so I think that's why it won't work.  My question, how do I set up a page on a DNN site with rss that will be acceptable to itunes?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

I don't have a lot of experience with that but here is what I recommend:

1 - Make sure the output from the URL that you are providing to itunes comply with itunes rss format. I found this link which might be useful - https://resourcecenter.odee.osu.edu/d...

2 - If the module is promising to be compatible with itunes and it is not, you need to contact the vendor.

There is not much beyond this that I can provide. Which module are you using? Can you share the URL to your feed?

Best regards,

Aderson

Hi Chris,

The RSS feed from the HTML module has a very different format as compared to the one expected by itunes. So that will not work.

Your best bet is to get a podcast hosting provider where you can load the file and they will provide you with an RSS feed.

There are many hosting companies like that for instance Lidsyn is one that I have used in the past.

Besides that, if you want to self host your files, you will have to get a developer to code your own feed from the site as I'm not aware of a module that provides the itunes rss feed.

Best regards,

Aderson
