Hello my question is about DNN 9 panes. In previous version sof DNN when you moved a module from pane to pane you could see the name of the pane that you are moving the module to. I could not see the name of the pane as I dragged a module from pane to pane is this because the letters are in white instead of black or has that now been taken out for some reason.

The other question that kind of goes along with this is that it seems like you can only move the module via drag and drop upon initially instantiating it on a page. On previous versions of DNN you could opt to drag the module from pane to pane even after instantiating it rather than having to manual click on the gear and click on move to a specific pane.

Let me know if I am missing anything here.

Thanks,

Bo

Hi Bo,

1 - The pane names have been removed - I also miss that :(

2 - When you are in edit mode, you can still see the pane names before you move. Just move the mouse over the module and you will see the small 3 icons in the top right corner - Then move the mouse over the arrow pointed cross "+" and you will see the pane names that you can move to.

Cheers,

Aderson

But you can't tell which pane goes with which word, correct. I have the Doris skin which has a lot of named panes and if I hover over the arrow I can indeed see all the panes included in this skin but I cannot see how it relates to the actual page. For example as I look at a pane name is it in the pane that is 4 panes down at the very right or is it a middle pane in a 3 pane row or which one is the slider pane is it the pane just below the menu or two below the menu.

This is what I miss I can't actually tell where on the page the module is going as I don't know the pane name unless I look at the skin diagram from the manufacturer but I hate to have to have that to constantly look at when I want to move a module to a particular pane on the page. I wonder if they will bring that back for certainly it seemed to me that it was a time saver to be able to move the module into a particular labeled pane on the actual page. Oh well it is what it is thanks for your reply at least you can drag and drop modules still into various panes though they have no label.

I feel the same pain Bo - I don't think the pane names will be brought back though.
