Hello,

I apologize if this has been covered but I am having trouble finding how to delete photos. I am new to DNN and the photos I am referring to are the ones in User Profile. When you upload a photo to use as an avatar, the default is to upload it to "My Folder". Where is "My Folder" located? Then after the photo is upload, if I want to delete it, where do I do that? I am the Super User and it is my site and I can't find it in the admin section. Help on this please.

Thank you.

Hi Luca,

Actually from the user profile interface, there is only the option to upload a new photo, not delete the current one.

But there is an alternative:

1 - If you are trying to delete your own photo as a super user you can go to Host/File Manage;

2 - Check "Recursive" and click "Synchronize Files" - This will ensure that the photo file will show up on the file manager;

3 - Now under "Folders", expand users. You will find a number. Keep expanding until you no longer can.

4 - Select the last folder found on the treeview of folder after having the last folder expanded.

5 - On the right side you should be able to see the picture file that you have uploaded;

6 - Just select it and delete.

That will do it!

Cheers,

Hello Aderson,

Thank you for the response. It worked! So there is no way for a user to delete photos they upload? Also is there a way to limit the number of photos a user can upload? Are there modules that can help with this? Thank you for your help.

Hi Luca,

For this particular case "User profile photo" the only thing I can think of is that they could mark the"Photo" field as visible by "Admin only". The it would be hidden from everybody else. Not a great solution I realize but thats what I can think of for this case.

Cheers,

Aderson

Again Aderson, thank you for your help. I will play around more and see what I can come up with.
