Hi,

I am trying to implement Google tag manager and for this you need to copy and paste some code just below the opening <body> tag.

What's the way to do this? I have tried pasting it into the top of the index.ascx file for the portal, however, it still comes after all the <script> tags.. ?

Thanks

Hi Mark,

First I want to mention that even though those kinds of tags "require" that you put them on a certain location, like inside the header tag, right at the very end of the body tag or right after it has open (like the one you have) but it will work just fine if you put them anywhere. That has been my experience.

But if you do want to follow their instructions to the letter, the you should consider opening the /default.aspx file and put it right there. This is unconventional but that is the quickest way to make that work.

Cheers,

Aderson

Hi Aderson,

The problem with this is that if you have many sites on one installation, then this change will appear on every site right, as this file appears in the root of the directory? However as this snippet has an ID in it, I can't have same snippet on all sites.

I have tried pasting the code further down the page, but my google team say that it seems to fire more than once, and they believe it could be because where it is, and if it was directly under the body tag, it would work ok - might be true, might not. :)

Cheers

Mark

I see their point Mark. Just not sure how to work around that though :(
