I am a newbie in programming modules for dotnetnuke.

At this moment I use only the view.ascx for displaying my logic. I need to display different views based on the login user and the attach user role. I can do it by setting some of the controls visible and non visible but I think it is not the right way and make the code unnecessary complex.

I think I need the following solution:

MasterControl.ascx calling userview1.ascx userview2.ascx ... userviewk.ascx based on some conditions

How to achieve the above scenario? I have no experience at all with user controls and registering additonal modules. I only work sofar with the view.asx ...
I used DNN 7.2.x with the Cristoc addin.

I am a complete newbie so I need a step by step "cookbook recipe" how to convert my current module with, only using, one "view.ascx" approach with a more flexible multiple ascx solution.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Ton

Hi Ton,

Not sure if the path you are taking is the most appropriate one for a DNN module but I think you would benefit quite a log for this videos series created by Scott Wilkinson: Module Definition basics in DNN

It is a 6 part series and he goes step by step.

Cheers,

Aderson
