Hi folks

I've been through this three times and keep getting this error when I try to launch the DNN install... what am I doing wrong?

On the site's folder you have to make sure you give "full access" to the "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" user as well as to the "IIS_IUSRS ([SERVER NAME]\IIS_IUSRS)" user. I describe that on this series: Installing DNN on Amazon EC2

Cheers,

Many thanks for a prompt response

I was following these videos and unzipped the DNNInstall directly into wwwroot giving both IIS_IUSRS and DefaultAppPool full permissions... and I have just rechecked this. Is there anything else this could be?

Kind regards

Geoffrey

Make sure those permissions were propagated to all sub folders. There is a checkbox when you grant permissions to overwrite all children's permissions.

If this still doesn't work, send me access to your server (remote access) and I will have a look for you. You can use the Feedback form.

Cheers,

Again, thanks. I'll start a new instance on EC2 and go through it all again.

I know your videos are right because my son got DNN set up by following them... and he's a Mac not a Microsoft person... which makes it even more irritating :-)

But I'll take up your offer if I still fail to get this sorted out.

Kind regards

Geoffrey
