DotNetNuke Modules and Skins Review | July 5, 2012 - July 12, 2012

If you have a business that relies heavily on the web you must have heard about the power of creating an affiliate program for your website. It is like recruiting a sales force to work for you by distributing your product or service. This is why I have chosen to talk about DNN Affiliate Manager 3.2 by STP Systems. This is the only module on the DNN Store that I have found which allows you to create a fully managed Affiliate Program for your website.

They have a good demo where you can login and see for yourself all its features. From a simple but nice dashboard, to tracking affiliate payments and custom reports, it has it all. Beyond that they also have a more robust affiliate module called Multi-Tier Affiliate Manager in case you need even more flexibility. Here is a comparison chart so you can quickly find out which version is right for you. This is one module that I'm looking forward to implement on DNNHero.com at some point.

In terms of skins this week I have picked the new kid on the block. The skin is called QuickSkin and the seller is 3Net Solutions. This is their first product on the DNN Store and they started off on the right foot. The simple and elegant design really caught my attention. The Nivo Slider gives another touch of good taste and style. The skin is very well constructed based on CSS/DIVs. No messy tables around at all. Except for the gray body, most other color elements, like the red menu and the dark gray top area, are based on simple color codes on the skin.css file. So the fact that they are not based on images makes it quite simple to change colors in case you need to make adjustments to comply with your branding. Above all the price point make it feels like we are stealing!
