Hello,

we are looking to create an online support (chat) on our website.

i would like to know if you have a recommended chat module or if there is a recommended chat service for this type of thing. we would like the chat to be accessed through the homepage and through select pages on our website

Hi Moran

There are a number of Live Chat suppliers, you also need to consider what extra features you may or may not require.

Do you need multiple people able to answer the Chat?

Do you want to personalise it? I was on one the other day and it said "CS Rep" as opposed to Bob

Some allow you to send emails at the end or print the chat, others let files be uploaded, some allow remote control, i.e. letting you guide the client around your site.

This one from CuteSoft is very powerful, speak to Aderson he may know them from our WSI days

The hosting company I use uses http://www.liveperson.com/ which from a "recipients" end seems really good

Do you want one that takes an email if the call is not answered?

Tells you how many people are in the queue ahead of you?

Bottom line, define your needs then take up free trials :-)

Hope this helps

Dave

Moran/Dave,

Right now I'm a big fan of olark.com - This is not a module, just a script placed on your site. It works on a monthly fee. I love how easy it was to setup and how professional it looks. This is what I'm using here on dnnhero.com under the "Contact us!" link on the bottom right corner.

In terms of a module specific to DNN, I have used SigmaLive in the past as well. Not super nice, but can work as well.

Cheers,

Aderson

Hello Dave/Aderson.

thanks for the response.

to answer your questions, we would like it to be the most professional that it can be so:

1. personalise- yes, we would like this

2. emails, upload of files, print chat, remote access- all yes

3. how many people in queue ahead- could be nice, not a must be if possible then yes.

i will check the ones that you have listed along with the one that Aderson has noted.

Aderson- do you have any recommendations on these?

thank you very much for your assistance

Moran
