Hi

I have recently installed a new install of DNN 8.0.3

I added a user as administrator and they can edit the site contents (pages) however when I tried to upload an image and create a folder I get an error message

If I go to file manager under administrator I get

"

An error occurred while loading the folder content.
The user doesn't have the correct permissions to browse this folder.
"

As the Host user I have no problems

Any idea where these settings are accessed?

Never had this issue with previous versions

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

It seems to be a bug: https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/browse/DNN-8113

Check the comments there. They may have a work around the situation.

Best regards,

Aderson

Hi Aderson

Great pointer :-)

They did not have a solution, but gave me enough of a clue to find a workaround

I created a new website under the portal. This time I did not choose Blank website but Default website. I also unchecked use current user (i.e Host) as Admin and created my own. I now have an Admin, (not SuperUser) who can access FileManager without an error

Of course committed the Cardinal sin of changing 2 things. When I have time I will test individually

Not sure if you have a login for the site you mentioned so you can post my workaround

All the best

Dave

Hi Dave,

Great that you found a work around. That site is public if I'm not mistaken, you can just create and account and report.

Hi (update 31 Oct 16)

I have come across an interesting variant of this problem in Reports

The Reports module allows you to use an HTML visualizer to format reports see DNN Hero videos

There is a twist, you need to be a SuperUser to configure the module to choose a Data Source and the SQL to run (very sensible as an Admin could enter destuctive SQL or query tables they shouldn't) however there is an issue if you set an HTML visualizer when you come back you are presented with (like) 'you do not have permission to view..,'. If you make any change, not related, to the visualizer when you Update / Save it resets the file chosen, therefore not displaying the data in the correct format :-(.

The current solution is to have an administrator, who can see the Files and update them. However, the HTML visualizers are saved to that User, so if you have more than 1 Admin it might prove an issue!
