Re: How to change the layout of the Events Module in DotNetNuke, 2nd shot - Video #99

Hi Aderson,
I followed your videos, they are very interesting.
I have one question about the Events module:
I added the event module to one of the pages and it shows as a list, and I also added as an existing module to the home page, but I would like to show in small format on the home page. Is it possible to use different template for the same Event module on different pages? Now, whenever I change the settings for the one on the home page, it affects the one on the other page.

Thank you,
Steven

Thanks for watching the videos Steven.

In regards to your question, the way you have it setup, the modules are shared. They are not independent from each other. So you will not be able to set them up differently.

The only way would be to add a brand new Events module to the home page. But I understand if you do that they will not share content automatically.

It is a trade-off. They can either share content and have the same settings OR they can have different settings and not share content.

Re: How to change the layout of the Events Module in DotNetNuke, 2nd shot - Video #99

Hi Aderson,

I have a calendar on the front page of our website using the standard theme = Small. Whenever I click on one date which has an event, the details show up in the same pane where I have my small calendar. That Pane is just a small vertical pane on the front page, it doesn't have too much space to show the details of the event.
How can I configure the calendar to show the details in the ContentPane of the webpage and ideally using another page skin which is the same as the default skin. The front page is not using the default skin.

Thank you,
Steven

Hi Steven,

I’m not really sure if this is possible but I will check and let you know.

Hi Steven,

I finally had a chance to look at this and what I found is that you can open the event details on a separate page by going to "Edit Settings"/"Detail View Settings" and checking the box that says "Event Detail New Page".

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
