This is an interview I’ve recorded on August 25, 2016 with 4 members of the DNNSummit committee:

They took upon themselves, and some other people as well, to put together not only the next DNN community event in North America, which will happen in January 2017 in Denver, Colorado, but also to create an organization that will facilitate future events like this.
