About the "Hero"

  Hi Folks,

Aderson OliveiraMy name is Aderson Oliveira and I run DNNHero.com. First and foremost I want to explain why "DNNHero". You may think that I'm just a self-indulgent and presumptuous type of individual, but this is not the case. This came from a good friend of mine, Carole Martin. Back then we were working in a lot of DotNetNuke projects together and whenever she was facing a road block, she used to call me to fix it. Once the problem was gone, she used to say: "You are my DNN Hero!".

So when I decided to start recording my learnings on DotNetNuke, I went to check if the domain "DNNHero.com" was available. It was, so here we are.

With that one settled, now lets get to the meat and potatoes. I was born in Brazil, so now you know where my accent came from, but I have been living in Canada since 2002. I live with my wife and daughter in a small town called Ajax, just outside Toronto. When I'm not recording DNNHero.com videos, I'm working on DotNetNuke websites, entertaining my family, reading books, watching sci-fi or listening to music, in no particular order.

I have been on the Internet since 1995, right after I went to university. I graduated in 1999 and since then I have been working as a programmer, mostly with Microsoft technologies.

In 2006 I have discovered the power of CMS (Content Management Systems), in particular DotNetNuke. In 2007 I had the opportunity to co-found Aiyra Technologies, a web development company focused on DotNetNuke as a delivery platform. Aiyra was then sold in 2009, but during these 3 years we (myself and our team) have delivered over 300 websites all implemented with DotNetNuke.

In 2010 I have decided to focus my time and efforts on spreading the word about CMS platforms, in particular DotNetNuke.

I hope you enjoy DNNHero.com and please feel free to send me your feedback about it.

Cheers to DNN!
